Farewell Sebastian Roche … welcome Dexters!

Farewell Sebastian Roche – welcome Dexters! It appears that Dexters, a leading independent estate agent in London, has taken over Sebastian Roche’s offices in Ladywell and Honor Oak.

A sign of the times perhaps? With the Bank of England lifting interest rates to 3.5 per cent, the highest level in 14 years, mortgage rates have risen sharply.

As a result, transactions and house prices are falling. To make matters worse the economy is  heading into a recession –  if it is not already in one.

In such circumstances estate agents are usually among the first high street businesses to sell up or shut up shop .

No surprise then that Dexters, which seems to have a bit of pare cash has been hunting for bargains and opted to extend its coverage of south London.

Alongside Sebastian Roche, established 20 years ago, it has also picked up Peter James, in business since 1998,  which has four offices in Blackheath, Lee, New Cross and Brockley.
